My Sophos Firewall Setup Story

//A Strong Shield: My Sophos Firewall Setup Story

After evaluating our company’s infrastructure and security needs, I decided to use Sophos XG Firewall. With its advanced threat protection, user-friendly interface, and comprehensive security features, I believed it was the best solution for us.

My firewall setup process went as follows:

* Installing Sophos XG Firewall: I downloaded the latest version of Sophos, installed it on the server, and completed the initial configuration through the web-based management panel.

* Configuring the Network: I defined LAN, WAN, and DMZ zones, assigning appropriate access rules to each.

* Defining Advanced Security Policies:
I created strict firewall rules to block all unnecessary traffic.
I enabled web filtering to block harmful content.
I used application control to restrict certain applications from accessing the corporate network.

* Activating IPS (Intrusion Prevention System) and ATP (Advanced Threat Protection): I configured Sophos’ advanced threat prevention features to detect and block attacks in real-time.

* Setting Up a VPN: To ensure secure remote access, I configured an SSL VPN for employees.

* Monitoring and Reporting: I enabled Sophos’ detailed analytics and reporting features to monitor network traffic in real time.

After completing the setup, I ran several tests. When I checked the logs, I saw that the attacks previously targeting our system were now successfully blocked by Sophos.
I took a deep breath and turned to my team:
"Our system is now secure! But remember, security is an ongoing process, and we must keep everything updated."

Since that day, I have continued to optimize the security features offered by Sophos, ensuring our system stays up to date. I know that we must always stay one step ahead of new threats, so I regularly perform security checks to maintain our defenses.
